Mary K. Behr, 84, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Genesis East Medical Center. Visitation will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 11, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport; a service will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mary was born July 30, 1933 in Charlotte, IA; the loving daughter of William and Loretta (Grill) Bielenberg . She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1950. She then attended Jane Lamb Nursing School where she earned a degree as an RN. She was united in marriage to Rodney Behr on February 22, 1963 in Charlotte. Mary worked for the University of Iowa Hospital and later retired from Genesis West Medical Center in 1995. She enjoyed playing the piano and was an avid Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan. She also loved watching her children's activities when they were at home. Mary and Rodney enjoyed traveling internationally. She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the Altar Guild, Bell Choirs and the Dorcas Circle. Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband of 54 years, Rodney; daughter, Linda Flynn and sons, Dr. Nolan (Jeannie) Behr and Mitch Behr; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and sisters: Joyce Eberhart and Abby Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Loraine and a brother Bruce.
