Ralph R. Plambeck, 86, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Davenport Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be Monday, March 30, 2015 at 12:00 PM at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Davenport Lutheran Home or the Alzheimer's Association. Ralph was born August 1, 1928 in Davenport; the son of Obert and Hilda (Arp) Plambeck. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Butenschoen on February 20, 1954 in Davenport. He farmed most of his life on the family farm, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of the Walcott American Legion, N.F.O. and had served on the Mississippi Valley Fair Board. He was a huge NASCAR fan and loved traveling, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sylvia, Davenport; daughters: Denise Durant, Waterloo, IA and Lisa (Terry) Schluensen, Bettendorf; grandchildren: Krista (Aaron) Ernzen, Dyersville, IA; Brittany Durant (Duane Harker), Dyersville, IA; Carlie Durant (Scott Mensen), Dyersville, IA; Claire Schluensen, Iowa City and Sam Schluensen, Bettendorf; brother, Wesley (Yvonne) Plambeck, Arizona and a sister-in-law, Ann Plambeck, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David, sister, Arlene Feuerbach and a brother, Donald Plambeck.
